Georgian organizing committee has once again successfully held an important event regardless bad weather conditions – Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup test event on March 6th in Bakuriani. The event was live broadcasted through Eurosport channels in different countries of the world.
As in Freeski World Cup, Snowboard event was also apprehended without Qualification runs, but participating athletes had the chance to have the training session after the Freeski World Cup test event on March 5th. Over 20 snowboarders from 10 countries participated in the event, including one Georgian snowboarder Jaba Skhvediani.
Places between female snowboarders were distributed as follows:
I – Laurie Blouin (Canada)
II – Jasmine Baird (Canada)
III – Bianca Gisler (Switzerland)
Males:
I – Leon Vockensperger (Germany)
II – Valentino Guseli (Australia)
III – Leon Guetl (Germany)
Quality of the event was evaluated positively as well as from FIS (International Ski Federation) , also from foreign athletes. It’s important to mention that 2022 World Cup and Europa Cup events were the last stage of preparation for 2023 Freestyle, Snowboard and Freeski World Championship. After successfully performing international events, Georgian Ski Federation has now many local competitions planned till the end of this year’s ski season.
