On February 3-4th the World Cup of snowboard cross will be held in Gudauri for the first time.
The competition is held under the auspices of the International Ski Federation (FIS). 90 athletes from 17 leading countries of the world (USA, Canada, Switzerland, Austria, Andorra, Australia, Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Ukraine) will compete in the race.
International media will cover the World Cup in Gudauri races. The live broadcast will take place on “Eurosport” and on the ,,first channel of Georgia“. ,,Euronews Georgia“ is the media partner of the Georgian Ski Federation.
Last year Georgia hosted the world championships in freestyle, snowboard and free skiing at the highest level and took an honorable place on the world sports map. Successfully held events in various disciplines led to the inclusion of Georgian mountain resorts in the regular FIS calendar.
In December 2023 the World Cup in Mogul and Dual Mogul disciplines was held in Bakuriani. A different discipline, snowboard cross, will be held in Gudauri now and ski cross will be held again in Bakuriani on February 10-11.
The events of the winter season will held with support of the Government of Georgia, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and ,,Mountain Trails Agency”(MTA).
The World Cup races are organized by the Ski Federation of Georgia and its sponsor company ,,Silknet“.
