Georgian ski team member Luka Buchukur competed for the first time at the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics.

Luka Buchukur’s comment before the competition: -,,Since childhood, I have dreamed of participating in the Olympics with the best athletes. This was preceded by a lot of hard work and continuous training. Today I will take the first start and will do my best.“

On February 14, the giant slalom was held, Luka took 56th place. The gold medal was won by Brazilian Lucas Pinheiro Braatten, the silver and bronze medals were won by Swiss Marco Odertmatt and Loik Meillard.

During the slalom competition on February 16, the weather was very bad, it was snowing and most of the participants didn`t finish, including unfortunately Luka Buchukuri. After the first run the World Cup leader Atlie Lie Mcgrath had the best time, but unfortunately he dropped out on the second run. The victory was won by Swiss Loic Meillard, Austrian Fabio Gastrain came in second and Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen took third place.
