On January 17-18, the FIS Slalom Ranking Competitions (4 events) were held in the Jahorina resort of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where Georgian alpine skier Nino Tsiklauri took second and third places on the first day and won two medals at the competition held on January 18.

Nino Tsiklauri will travel to the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, which will be Nino’s 5th Olympics, which is the first time in the history of Georgian skiing.

Nino Tsiklauri: -,”The competition was held on the Sarajevo Olympic track, in Jahorina. I have always been interested in this mountain and I am very happy that I won two competitions here. I am satisfied with my slalom form and especially with my self-confidence. I hope that I will be the same in the giant slalom. As for the Olympics, it is a great honor for me to compete in the fifth Olympic Games on behalf of Georgia. I have the same emotions as at the previous Olympics, but each time I better understand what it means to represent Georgia at the Olympic start. This is a great responsibility and pride. The road has never been easy, there were difficulties, injuries, disappointments and moments when I had to fight with myself. However, there were also victories, progress and positive emotions. It is these experiences that taught me patience, discipline, faith and brought me to this point. Given that the last three years, the preparation period due to injuries was difficult It was, I actually couldn’t ski for eight months this season and now I’ve only had one month of training. I’m sure this Olympics will be one of the most difficult, especially in giant slalom, although I’m more confident in slalom. Nevertheless, I will do everything to show my maximum abilities. I hope that skiing will become even more popular in Georgia and the new generation will be more motivated and capable than me.”

Congratulations to Nino on her victory and good luck at the Olympic Games!
