On February 19th Bakuriani hosted FIS Europa Cup in Parallel Giant Slalom for the very first time in its history.
Athletes from 11 countries – Austria, Ukraine, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Slovenia, Australia, Iran, Poland, Italy and Georgia, participated in the competition. Several top ranked athletes visited Bakuriani during the event, such as the Olympic champion Benjamin Karl, Klaudia Riegler, Daniela Ulbing and others. Georgia was represented by successful athlete Revaz Nazghaidze.
The first place among men was won by Dario Caviezel from Switzerland team.
Second place – Benjamin Karl – Austria
Third place – Stefan Baumeister – Germany
The results among women were distributed as follows:
First place – Jenny Ladina – Switzerland
Second place – Milena Bykova – Russia
Third Place– Sabine Schöffmann – Austria
