On August 25-27, 2026, an inspection of the Bakuriani and Gudauri competition trails was conducted to assess the possibility of holding international alpine skiing competitions in Georgia in the future. These competitions included FIS rating competitions, European Cup stages, World Cup stages and World Championships in various age categories.<\/p>\n
The inspection was attended by representatives of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), Marian Hosala and Wim Rossel, who represent the European Cup route coordinators. Representatives of the Georgian Ski Federation (GSF) and employees of the Mountain Trails Agency (MTA) also participated in the inspection.<\/p>\n
The inspection included an assessment of the tracks, infrastructure, safety systems, logistical capabilities and compliance with international standards, as well as the identification of promising tracks for homologation for upcoming competitions.<\/p>\n
Two ski resorts were inspected as part of the inspection: Bakuriani and Gudauri.<\/p>\n
